Some BGT auditions feel special from the very first note.
In 2022, Tom Ball, a 23-year-old secondary school teacher from West Sussex, walked onto the Britain's Got Talent stage. He seemed calm, humble, and almost shy before the music began.
Then he performed Writing's On The Wall by Sam Smith.
Within seconds, the room changed.
Tom's powerful voice surprised the judges and audience, turning a quiet audition into one of the standout moments of the season. He received four yeses and went on to win the public vote in his semi-final.
By the end of Britain's Got Talent 2022, Tom Ball finished in third place, but his journey felt much bigger than a result. He showed that sometimes the most unforgettable voices come from people who simply walk onstage, take a breath, and let their talent speak.
His story is a perfect reminder of why we love BGT: one ordinary day can become the beginning of something extraordinary.
